St. Xavier's Long runs strong at national meet

St. Xavier High School senior Brian Long finished 15th in the junior men’s eight-kilometer race at the USA Cross Country Championships in Boulder, Colo., on Saturday.
Long, who won the individual title at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Boys’ Class AAA State Cross Country Meet in November, completed the course in 26:53. Elliot Heath of Winona, Minn., won in 26:07.
Long was the only Kentuckian that ran in either the junior men’s or women’s races.
