Boys’ basketball

Dominique Spearman had a triple-double for Iroquois with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists in a 68-63 win over Fern Creek on Tuesday.

Zayd Abukar also had a triple-double for St. Francis that night with 15 points, 18 rebound and 10 blocks in a 60-49 loss to Eminence.

Ballard’s Twany Beckham had a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds in an 83-57 win over St. Xavier on Friday.

Western’s Tameron Holt had two double-doubles, posting 34 points and 10 rebounds in an 82-67 loss to Seneca on Tuesday and 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-55 win over Southern on Friday.

Fern Creek’s Chris Duncan also had a double-double with 26 points and 15 rebounds in a 63-55 win over Waggener on Friday.

Waggener’s Dayvon Sloan scored 25 points twice, in a 74-71 loss to Atherton on Tuesday and in the loss to Fern Creek.

Evangel’s Matt Fulks had a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds in a 65-48 win over Burgin on Tuesday.

Pleasure Ridge Park’s Adam Delph scored 27 points in a 97-55 win over Frankfort on Saturday.


Girls’ basketball

Brianne Miles hit 10 of Moore’s state-record 21 three-pointers and scored 34 points in an 87-32 win over Seneca on Friday.

Christian Academy’s Antonita Slaughter had a double-double with 35 points and 18 rebounds in a 64-62 loss to Sacred Heart in double-overtime on Tuesday.

Butler’s Tia Gibbs scored 28 points in a 67-59 win over Shelby County on Tuesday and exploded for 36 in a 62-57 loss to Fairdale on Friday.

Mercy’s Shawna Culver also scored 28 points on Tuesday in a 98-82 loss to Lexington Catholic on Tuesday.

Atherton’s Samantha Coleman had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds in a 64-38 win over Waggener on Tuesday.

Fairdale’s Ceira Rickets had a double-double that night with 27 points and 11 assists in a 67-49 win over Pleasure Ridge Park.

Manual’s Brittany Wilson had a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 58-37 win over Eastern on Wednesday.

Sacred Heart’s Elizabeth Campbell had a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds in a 52-51 win over Manual on Saturday.

Fern Creek’s Monique Reid scored 32 points in a 56-33 win over Waggener on Friday.

Western’s Laessence Buckner scored 26 points in a 60-32 win over Southern on Friday.

Sheniqua Murry scored 28 points - 71.8 percent of Shawnee’s total - in a 39-21 win over Brown on Friday.


Boys’ indoor track

St. Xavier’s Brian Long made the biggest splash among in-state athletes at the University of Kentucky High School Invitational on Saturday, winning the two-mile race in 9:21.65. His time was seven seconds off the best recorded nationally in 2007.


Girls’ indoor track

Manual’s Mary Grace Pellegrini was one of the state’s top females at the University of Kentucky Invitational with her third-place finish in the two-mile. Her time - 10:58.27 - was better than the previous meet record of 10:59.73 set in 2005.


Wrestling

Fern Creek’s John Wolsiefer beat Pleasure Ridge Park’s Dakoda Choate to win the 160-pound title, his second in as many years, and lead the Tigers to fourth place at the State Wrestling Championships at the Frankfort Convention Center on Saturday.

Seneca’s Elliott Martin beat Trinity’s Myron Bradbury for the 103-pound title.

Doss’ Derek Nickel was Louisville’s other winner, beating Fern Creek’s Deon Chaney for the 215-pound title.
