Boys’ basketball

Male’s Douglas Beaumont hit six three-pointers and scored 30 points in a 73-55 win over Clark County in the semifinals of Lexington Catholic’s Fifth Third Bank Classic on Friday. The Bulldogs won the tournament on Saturday, when Dexter Heyman had 18 points and 14 rebounds in a 66-49 win over the host Knights in the final.

Doss’ Davin Anderson hit four three-pointers and scored 28 points in a 69-60 loss to Trinity in a Fifth Third Bank Classic consolation game on Friday.

St. Xavier’s Lee Steiden scored 25 points in a 61-51 loss to Covington Holmes in the second round of the Fifth Third Bank Classic on Wednesday.

Eric Mosley scored 55 points in Fern Creek’s last two games in the Valley Holiday Classic, leading the Tigers to third place in the tournament. He had 27 points in a 70-64 loss to Iroquois in the semifinals on Thursday and had 28 in a 69-44 win over Valley on Friday.

Iroquois’ Larry Haskins had a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds in a 57-55 win over Holy Cross in the first round of the Valley Holiday Classic on Wednesday. The Raiders won the tournament on Friday.

Manual’s Aaron Williams scored 30 points in a 75-66 win over Knott County Central in the seventh-place game of the Ashland Invitational on Friday.

Western’s Tameron Holt scored 26 points in a 58-52 win over the host Cardinals in the Nelson County Classic on Wednesday.

Pleasure Ridge Park’s Kerry Benson scored 25 points in an 81-60 win over Long Island (N.Y.) Lutheran on Thursday and teammate Adam Delph scored 24 in an 88-72 win over Longwood (N.Y.) on Saturday, both in the Rim Rockers Classic in Middle Island, N.Y.

Jazzmar Ferguson scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half to push Moore past North Hardin 66-64 in the third-place game of Paintsville’s Hoops Classic on Saturday. He hit five three-pointers in the game.

Girls’ basketball

Monique Reid averaged 34.5 points and 16.5 rebounds in Fern Creek’s four games in Boyle County’s Applebee’s Classic and had a triple-double with 45 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists in a 72-45 win over Washington County in the seventh-place game on Saturday.

Ballard’s Jade Barber scored 27 points in a 67-62 win over Marion County in the Bethlehem Banshee Classic final on Friday.

Moore’s Brianne Miles hit six three-pointers and scored 25 points in a 59-52 win over South Laurel in the Bourbon County Invitational final on Saturday.

Jersharra Willis scored 33 points - more than half of Pleasure Ridge Park’s total - in a 78-65 loss to the host Devils in the first round of the Owensboro Invitational on Wednesday.

Butler’s Whitney Reed scored 21 points in a 63-59 win over Nelson County in the quarterfinals of Allen County’s Lady Invitational of the South on Thursday, and teammate Tia Gibbs almost had a quadruple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 10 steals and nine assists in a 66-42 win over Gallatin (Tenn.) in the third-place game on Saturday.

Iroquois’ Adia Mathies scored 21 points in a 75-56 win over Meade County in a consolation game in the Lady Invitational of the South on Thursday.

Whitefield Academy’s Kristen McLaurin scored 23 points, including two free throws with two seconds left in the fourth quarter to force overtime, in a 48-47 win over Henry County in a consolation game of the IRCS Holiday Tournament in Largo, Fla., on Saturday.
