The Sacred Heart Academy field hockey team, which won the state title on Oct. 26, has been ranked No. 6 in TopOfTheCircle.com’s postseason list of the top 50 high school teams in the country.
Sacred Heart, Kentucky’s only representative on the list, beat Kentucky Country Day 3-1 in the state final and finished 28-0 in its third year under coach Liz Lewis.
"It is just such an honor to be recognized as a top team nationally," Lewis said. "It speaks volumes about the grit, determination and comittment of the kids. They worked tremendously hard and remained focused throughout the season and deserve the accolades."
