NFHCA honors 42 local athletes for academics

A total of 42 student-athletes from five Louisville high schools were selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School National Academic Squad last week.

The NFHCA program recognizes those seniors with cumulative, unweighted grade-point averages of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale) through the first quarter of the current school year.

The honorees are listed alphabetically by school and last name below:

Christina Brightwell, Celia Johns, Lauren Miles, Karah Nall, Jessica Nord, Lauren Pfeiffer, Bianca Pietrantoni, Kari Quill, Allie Reilly, Tori Senninger, and Cara Zangari from Assumption;

Claire Bickel, Elizabeth Bingham, Devon Byrne, Annie Decker, Allison Grant, Katherine Seiler, Kim Spatola, and Emily Vieth from Collegiate;

Anne Kash Dobbins, Katherine Lash, Cassie Prugar, Katherine Roberts, Michele Staffieri, Elsa Stephen, and Courtney Tobe from Kentucky Country Day;

Andrea Blount, Megan Hildabrand, Lauren Kennedy, Emily Popham, Addie Rulketter, Kara Schultz, and Jordan White from Male;

Rebecca Anderson, Lauren Beard, Gwen Fenzel, Madison Gomez, Emily Jenks, Hannah Jones, Annie Makela, Sarah Meyer, and Nikki Pierce from Manual.
