IFHCK teams fare well in Disney showcase

Both teams that the Louisville-based International Field Hockey Club of Kentucky sent to Disney’s Field Hockey Showcase at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Central Florida over the weekend finished in the top three of their respective age divisions.
IFHCK Fire lost 1-0 to the WC Eagles (Spring City, Pa.) in the 16-and-under championship game after winning its pool, one of four in the division, with a 3-0-1 record. IFHCK Fire beat another pool winner, the Adanacs (West Vancouver, B.C.), 4-0 in a playoff game to reach the final.
IFHCK Thoroughbreds beat the Canes (Fredericksburg, Va.) 2-0 in the 14-and-under third-place game after finishing second in its pool, one of two in the division, with a 3-0-2 record.
