Louisville radio personality George Lindsey didn't set any records in the Chevron Houston Marathon on Sunday. In fact, he didn’t reach the halfway mark until after Feyisa Tusse already had won the race.
But Lindsey, who is best known as co-host of The Lambert & Lindsey Morning Show on WXMA-FM, did finish the 26.2 miles within the six-hour limit - which might not be too shabby for a 47-year-old whose bio mentions no athletic interest more taxing than golf.
Lindsey placed 5,084th overall with a time of 5:45:16. He was 3,189th among the men and 517th in the 45-49 age group.
The marathon was part of what had been billed as Houston’s largest single-day sporting event, which also included half-marathon and five-kilometer races. Go here to see results for the other Kentuckians who participated.
